Ashes 2013-14,2nd Test, Day 3.

   Australia 570 runs/9 wickets(dec.) - 1st Innings
     England 172 runs/10 wickets - 1st Innings
        Australia 132/3 (39.0 overs)
Australia lead by 530 runs with 7 wickets remaining
The 2nd day of the 2nd Ashes Test match proved to be a dream day for the Kangaroos as they did not allow England to score enough runs in order to avoid Follow On. Australia finished the English Batting on just 172 runs. Courtesy to a brute of a bowling from Mitchell Johnson who ripped 7 English Batsmen giving away just 40 runs in 17.2 overs.

The 2nd day started just like a nightmare as the fall of wickets continued from the Hosts. The things started of right earlier on the day with the early wicket of Joe Root who fell to Nathan Lyon for just 15 runs. No sooner it took for Peter Siddle to dismiss Kevin Pietersen for just 4 runs. However Micheal Carberry steadied the ship but their partnership lasted no longer than 45 runs due to the dismissal of Micheal Carberry for just 60 runs(10 fours). Their started the falling line for the the visitors as Mitchell Johnson RIPPED the last 6 English Batsmen within 10 runs.
Ian Bell became the highest scorer of the England scoring a total of 72* runs(9 fours and 4 sixes). Mitchell Johnson became the stand out only not for the Australian side but also of the day with his excellent figures of 17.2 overs-8 maidens-2 wickets-40 runs.
This concluded the English Innings for just a total of 172 runs/10 wickets.
England did not avoid Follow-on but Australia decided to have the bats in the hand themselves by scoring a massive total and destructing the Gentlemen with sheer pace.

Australia aimed to play aggressively.Though Chris Rogers was dismissed early for only 2 runs by James Anderson and Shane Watson departed without troubling the scorers and left out for a DUCK but David Warner continued to crush the opposition with his aggressive approach and two tiny partnerships with the skipper Micheal Clarke and Steven Smith helped Australia to achieve a total 132 runs/3 wickets. Micheal Clarke could only score 22 runs and was soon dismissed by Monty Panesar while Watson's wicket was grabbed by James Anderson.
At the end of the day Australia stand at a total of 132 runs/ 3 wickets. David Warner (83* runs) and Steven Smith(23* runs) still stand at crease. Let's see if the Australian dominance continues or its the Englishmen bounce back.........
